Robin Gershon Halpern

About Robin

I’ve spent my career supporting children, teens, and families through the challenges that come with growing up, learning differently, and navigating life’s transitions. Over the past 35+ years, I’ve worked in schools, clinics, and community-based settings, which has given me a deep understanding of how to support kids and families not just in therapy, but in the real-world environments where they learn and grow.

My professional path began at Teachers College, Columbia University, where I earned dual Master’s degrees in Psychology and in Psychological Counseling and Rehabilitation with a specialization in School Counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and a certified School Counselor in New Jersey. I’ve also completed advanced training in supervision, mindfulness for children and teens, and life skills education. In addition, I am a certified Neurodiversity and ADHD coach.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a wide range of individuals and families, including those facing developmental differences, substance use challenges, and school-related difficulties. I’ve also held leadership roles within school settings, including serving as a Coordinator of Special Services, where I supported students, families, and staff in navigating complex educational and emotional needs.

Opening my private practice in 2011 was a natural next step, allowing me to bring together my experience in education, counseling, and family support in a more personalized and meaningful way.

I bring a calm, steady presence to my work and value building genuine, trusting relationships with the families I support. My goal is to help you feel heard, better understand your child, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
